Amanda C

Bio

Amanda Cazalet is most famed for her androgynous looks in the 90's which were embraced and celebrated when she became the much-loved Muse of Jean-Paul Gaultier who, it is believed, based his now iconic perfume bottle shape on her figure. Throughout that period Amanda reached supermodel status working alongside Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, Kristen McNemany and Christy Turlington. A favourite choice by legendary photographers too including Nick Knight, Peter Lindbergh, Bettina Rheims, Steven Meisel, Ellen von Unwerth, Mark Borthwick and Jean Baptiste Mondino for fashion designers and brands: Katherine Hamnett, Martine Sitbon, Chloe, Comme de Garcons, Marco Rasala, Arena, Elle and Vogue.

Amanda's look was not limited to the runway or fashion magazines, she featured in numerous music videos from Tina Turner's - Girls, Bryan Ferry's - Slave to Love, Roxy Music's front cover of Heart's Still Beating album and of course the infamous 'kiss' with Madonna in the Justify My Love video. Advertising campaigns include Smirnoff, JPG Perfume, Audi, Aqua Libre, CoffeeMate, Birdseye. Amanda has been heavily featured in magazines and seminal fashion books, Blitz by Iain R Webb, Modern Lovers, Alternative Vision by Martine Sitbon.

Amanda is constantly referenced in articles and books that celebrate the avant garden 80's that embraced and drove forward positive diversity role models. Her comeback in the current fashion, music and political climate is no mistake - a fitting icon for a new era.
